Connecting deeply helps focus

In ArcCatalog, avoid wading through dozens of directories repeatedly, everyday, by connecting to a subdirectory instead of the top of the drive:

File > Connect to > G:\a\long\folder\path\here

Also, removing little or unused connections, C: for example, can help speed up ArcCatolog start up time.
