There have also been reports on the ESRI-L mailing list that other programs like TerraSync? and AutoDeskMap? do not read the geotiffs output by v9.1 without some jiggery pokery.
ArcMap Tip: you can control the display and print quality of rasters independently from the print/export quality setting. The Display Quality slider is located on the Display tab in a raster layer's Layer Properties dialog. This setting provides layer-by-layer control of raster downsampling.
